Mechanical Engineering Projects
Projects from research, clubs, and coursework.
01
(2022 - Present)
The surgical procedure anterior lumbar interbody fusion (ALIF) requires the surgeon to choose the correct implant size for the patient during the surgery. This project involves developing a faster method for trialing implant sizes. It is affiliated with SeaSpine and UCSB.
02
(2021 - Present)
Current commercial crutch tips are often the cause of slips for crutch users, especially in rainy weather. This ongoing project seeks to develop a better way to design crutches to prevent slipping.
03
(2020 - Present)
Soft actuators are integral to the field of soft robotics. Here, I worked with Dr. Luke Gockowski to prototype and test sunlight-powered soft actuators for the untethered locomotion of soft robots.
04
(2019 - Present)
A collection of class projects completed for mechanical engineering classes, including ME 153 (Introduction to Mechanical Engineering Design) and ME 18 (Toy Product Design).
05
(Summer 2018)
Through this program, I explored architecture and urban design with a final project where I designed a pavilion. Additionally, I learned the 3D software Rhino, basic 3D printing, and machine shop tools.
